Herbal Helps
Each herbal product is made in small batches to insure the highest quality and full potency of every ingredient. As with all of our other products, these herbal aids are used extensively by friends and family (our form of a "field test") with success and approval. Since everybody is different, we recommend applying only a small amount to your wrist to check for allergy.

Herbal Ointment
It never ceases to amaze me at the incredible benefits to be found in the plants most people call weeds! They grow almost anywhere and for this we should all be thankful. Not only do many of these plants have medicinal properties but they are also nutritious. Dandelion, Nettle, Chickweed and Plantain (the leaf not the banana like fruit) are all high in vitamins A, C, and K, and are full of minerals and chlorophyll. We have incorporated dandelion, chickweed and plantain into our Herbal Ointment because of these reasons and more! Plantain is an antiseptic, promotes the healing of damaged skin, is an anti-inflammatory, helps stop bleeding, and reduces pain! Chickweed is an astringent, an anti-inflammatory, and cooling to minor burns. Dandelion is incredibly useful! Please see my dandelion page for more information. In our ointment, we use the petals only. They provide vitamins and minerals to aid in the healing process and also provide pain relief. To the base oils of olive, coconut and cocoa butter we also infuse: St John's Wort: anti-inflammatory, helps with bruising Arnica: anti-inflammatory, and promotes the speedy recovery of bruising and sprains Calendula: anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory Echinacea: aids in healing and boosts immunity Yarrow: balances skin's PH and is anti-inflammatory Comfrey: Promotes quick healing of cuts, abrasions and sprains, and is anti-inflammatory We infuse all these wonderful herbs together over very low heat for several hours until the base oil is saturated with all their goodness. Then we add tea tree oil, known for its anti-septic properties, vitamin E and bind it all together with pure beeswax. Our family uses it in place of over-the-counter topical salves and friends have even used it, with good results, on pets. |
Scar Fade
My daughter was in a severe car accident and and had long sutures running along her hip, knee, forehead and both sides of her ankle. She needed something to help reduce the scarring those surgeries were sure to leave behind. So I made some herbal salve and called it Scar Cream with the intentions of it being only used on new scars. It completely took ALL purple away from the scars where she used the ointment daily! Leaving only a thin skin colored line behind. Than another family member noticed they had some stretch marks developing and tried it on them. It took about three weeks and the purple was completely faded. Finally someone tried it on an almost two year old scar that was still raised and discolored. I din't think it would help that old of a scar but it did! The scar faded and the swelling went down. So we changed the name to Scar Fade because it had the potential to help all scars: not just new ones. Ingredients: I started with organic olive oil, organic coconut oil, sweet almond oil and organic cocoa butter. Into that we infused Arnica, Chamomile, Yarrow, Calendula, Dandelion petals, and St Johns Wort (please see Herbal Ointment description for details on these dried herbs). To this the following essential oils were added & why we chose them: Geranium: increases circulation, helps return skin to original color Frankincense: cell regeneration Tea Tree: anti-microbial Lavender: reduces redness Carrot: vitamin rich, promotes cell growth Vitamin E: neutralizes free radicals Beeswax: to bind it all together AS WITH ANY NEW SKIN CARE PRODUCT, TRY IN A SMALL AREA BEFORE USING TO CHECK FOR ALLERGY. |
