Confessions of a chapstick addict...
Hello, my name is Delana and it has been about 1 hour since I last used chapstick.
That use to be me. I actually felt panicky if I couldn't find my precious tube of strawberry/cherry/spearmint/whatever petroleum goo. I would go into Napoleon Dynamite mode and start whining. "My lips hurt real bad!"
It was embarrassing!
I was determined to do better by my lips. I would break the habit! That sentiment would last till about 5 minutes after my lips started drying out.
And dry out they would!! ERRRRRR!! That stuff was suppose to moisturize but instead it seemed to be drying my lips out and unless I kept them goopy I was miserable. Plus it was full of scary stuff.
I tried buying the all natural lip gloss that doubled as a cat toy ball but those are close to $4.00 each!!!
So what was a DIY, dry lip phobic girl like me going to do?
Start making an all natural version myself: that's what!
I wanted something all natural, healing, moisturizing, tasted good and at least had a 15 SPF and here it is....
Not only do I use it WAY less (like once a day or sometimes an entire day without putting any on!) but it feels nicer. It's creamy, long lasting, and, once it does wear off, I don't notice! That tells me that it must really be moisturizing instead of just masking dry lips.
Finally lip balm Nirvana!
I sell these little miracles at all my Farmers Markets but just in case you are a DIYer too I'm adding my recipe. Why? Because I truly want to save the world from the evils of chapstick (just in case the chapstick manufacturers are reading this, I don't want you to think that I think you are actually "evil"...... just really misguided!)
